Next Steps Beyond Lea Manor
As pupils approach the end of their time at Lea Manor, it is important for them to consider their next steps. This page will provide information and advice about the next steps beyond Lea Manor, whether it be a place at College or 6th Form, or an Apprenticeship.
Each year, in Autumn Term 2, we host our annual Careers Convention. This is attended by local colleges and universities, training providers, employers and apprenticeship providers, and representatives from the services including police, army, navy and air force. The event allows pupils to speak to representatives across all these sectors, who can provide them with key information to help guide their career paths.

Open Day Advice
Choosing your College or 6th Form is an important decision with lots of factors to consider. Most, if not all, possible destinations will hold Open Days for you to be able to visit the location, see it's facilities, and assess if it is the right destination for you. You should aim to go to an open day for every location you are considering, to be able to gain a full understanding of what each place is like and to be able to fully compare them.
When attending an open day, consider these points:
- Are the courses right for me? - It is essential you have an understanding of what you will be studying, and if it is the right course for you to achieve your goals.
- Can I meet the entry requirements?
- Am I able to get there?
- Are there wider opportunities associated with the courses? - Will the course have a residential, exchange, or work experience element? How will this benefit you?
- What are the facilities like?
- What are the outcomes like?
